Terms of Service
Last updated: February 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Heir mobile application and related services ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
Heir provides an end-to-end encrypted digital vault that allows users to securely store sensitive information and designate trusted individuals ("Heirs") to receive access under specific conditions. The Service is currently available as a closed beta.
3. User Accounts
You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activities under your account. You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.
4. Encryption and Data Ownership
Your vault data is encrypted on your device using keys that only you possess. We cannot access, read, or recover your encrypted data. You are solely responsible for safeguarding your encryption keys and credentials. Loss of your encryption key may result in permanent loss of access to your vault.
5. Heir Designations
You may designate one or more heirs to receive access to your vault. The conditions under which access is granted (Heartbeat protocol, manual release, or always-open) are configured by you. Heir is not responsible for disputes between users and their designated heirs.
6. Prohibited Use
You may not use the Service for any unlawful purpose, to store illegal content, to attempt to reverse-engineer the encryption, or to interfere with the Service's operation.
7. Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Heir shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of data due to encryption key loss.
8. Beta Service
The Service is currently in beta. Features may change, be removed, or experience downtime without prior notice. We appreciate your feedback and patience during this phase.
9. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause. You may delete your account at any time through the app settings.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.
11. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
